low temperatures is to

temperature (Method A)
3) Build a tent around the stern of the boat and use
heaters to warm the air inside
4) Alternatively use Method B.

Question: How do I know when my stern gear needs
recoating?
Answer: There are no hard and fast rules but
as a rule of thumb we suggest that when barnacles
are starting to grow on the blade then its time to
recoat. However if the boat has been idle for some
time you can find that these will wash off anyway
once underway, especially at high speed. A good
timeframe to recoat is between 6 to 8 months which
is the average lifespan of the retail product.

Question: Why can’t I get an even coat of

Question: Why is PROPSHIELD such good value for
money?
Answer: When you consider that our competitors
have products for sale at two, three or even five
times as much as our own you begin to realise how
good a deal you're actually getting with Propshield
Antifouling Grease. The fact that our product gives
far better results, in our opinion, from independent
tests and from customers (see our testimonials),
means that our product is cheaper, more effective
and saves you a lot more money on fuel and propeller
repairs.

Question: How long does PROPSHIELD take to apply?
Answer: There's no definitive answer to this
question as it depends on what type of vessel you
are applying Propshield to and how many sections of
stern gear needs to be coated. For example it takes
thirty minutes to three quarters of an hour to coat
a 12 metre vessel's two propellers and two prop
shafts however to coat an 8 metre single propeller
vessel would take far less time. Note that the first
couple of applications will take a little longer
until you get familiar with the application process.

Question: Does PROPSHIELD really stop barnacles
forming on my props?
Answer: Yes. Propshield significantly reduces
the number of barnacles that usually form on
propellers and other types of stern gear, in some
instances it can stop barnacles altogether. As with
all Antifouling systems Propshield will require a
vessel to move through the water to ensure barnacles
are forced from the Propshield coating, if a vessel
is used infrequently then we recommend taking the
vessel out at least every 2 months and run the
vessel under power for an hour at full speed to
dislodge any growth which has managed to adhere
itself to the coating during inactivity - this
method is also advised for Sailboats which are used
frequently under sail only.

stern gear.

Question: Can PROPSHIELD stop electrolysis eating
away my props?
Answer: Propshield reduces but cannot stop
electrolysis and is not a substitute for a good
bonding system. (Propshield will not prevent anodes
dissolving/breaking down, unless you coat your
anodes with Propshield but this would stop your
anodes from working and this is not advisable under
any circumstances).
